Mentoring & Coaching for SEN Parents, Adopters and Adults with ADHD
What I support?
Are you struggling with confusing acronyms, complex processes, slow local authority and NHS services, let me help you.
SEN (Special Educational Needs) Parents
I will support and guide you and your support network (family & friends) to navigate your SEN journey and the complexities of diagnosis, adjusting family life and seeking school support (including EHCP).
For any SEN parent you soon realise that life is likely to be very different to what you first imagined, adjusting to that can be hard but also fighting for your children’s needs in what often feels like a completely broken system is overwhelming and stressful.
I have helped families navigate the systems and processes using my lived experience. I provide guidance on how to remove some of the emotion, focusing on the best and most efficient way to get the right outcomes for your child/children.
Adoptive Parents
I help adoptive parents and support network (family & friends) at all stages of their journey. I provide support and advice on how to navigate what can be a demanding and life changing process.
Adopting a child can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life, however it can also come with significant challenges. Typically a family has lots of time to plan and naturally grow and learn. With adoption, overnight you become an instant family without room to breathe or headspace to navigate the complexities and your new daily life.
From social worker visits, hospital appointments, school systems, life story work, contact, as well as many other accountabilities which could include additional needs. I help people using my lived experience to think about how to adjust or navigate dynamics and processes they have never had to manage before.
Adult ADHD
Support and guidance for adults who think they may have ADHD or recently diagnosed adults that are coming to terms with their diagnosis and how to move forward.
When first considering if you have ADHD, you can often feel silly or like an imposter. Neurodivergent diagnoses are on the rise and often people feel like they are ‘jumping on the bandwagon’.
According to ADHD UK data it is estimated that approximately 80% of Adults who have ADHD are undiagnosed, which is about 2 million people.
I help people process their thoughts and feelings on why they think they may have ADHD or how they feel post-diagnosis with a non-judgemental and lived experience perspective.
